Wow, I've never posted on a blog before!  Well, here's a little about me.  I'm 24 years old and have loved horses all my life.  When I was 15 I got my first job (Burger King) to pay for riding lessons at Whispering Pines Equestrian Center.  There I learned all about eventing, though I never competed.  I was fortunate in that the owner/instructor allowed me to ride as many horses as I could in a day which helped me learn very quickly.  I rode 2-3 horses a day there for a little over a year.

A friend from that stable introduced me to Gene Davis who owned a farm about 5 minutes from my house.  He bred / raced thoroughbreds, which is something I've been interested in all my life.  I spent 3 years there galloping their 3 racehorses from March to December.  Unfortunately, Gene died shortly after turning 80 and his daughter took over which is when things went downhill, and fast.  By then, though, I owned 5 horses, 2 sheep, and 3 dogs, and because I'm a broke college student, I'm stuck there until I can find a place to rent, or save enough to get my own farm.

Speaking of broke, I have to go to work now, but I'll post more later!
