Animals have been an important part in my life since I was 3 years old and crawling around on floor claiming that that day I was a cheetah and daring anybody to object. I have worked with dogs, cats, and finally for my thirteenth birthday my parents gave me horseback riding lessons. While most got a car for their 16th birthday I was driven speechless by my first horse. I later traded that horse, a slightly high spirited arabian gelding, for a calmer more trail worthy quarter horse mare. Sahara and I may not have been in each others life for very long, but it fits. We are working on Parelli Natural Horsemanship together and I would highly recomend it to anybody who, like me, doesn't understand typical horse training methods and how they are supposed to develop the relationship between horse and rider. Natural horsemanship is for the good of the horse. My experience with animals told me that this makes since, and that is what matters.
