Let's see, Opener of Deer Season, SOMEONE gets the bright idea to take a 4 year old with her!

(Man, was I really that little, or do they grow deer bigger out west?)
Took Tristan hunting for the first time(and possibly the last).
"Mom, are we Huntin?"
"Yes, now SSSHHH!"
"Mom, are we climbin' up a tree?"
"No, now be QUIET!"
"Mom, Where's Colten & Jeff?"
"Hunting! Now SSSHhhh!"
"Mom, why are the..."
"Shut UP, Tristan!"
(Whispers)"Mom."
(GLARE!!!)
"Mom!"
(Me, Hissing!)
"WHAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTAH!"
"I gotta pee."
So, yea.
WE did not see anything, because I'm SURE everything within 2 miles knew RIGHT where we were...
"Mom! Are you gonna shoot that Seagull?"
(Now, why there's seagulls flying at the crack of dawn in MN, I have no clue, but hey, give that kid a prize, he correctly identified them!)
"No, Tristan, we're DEER hunting, not BIRD hunting."
"Can I shoot the gun?"
[Eek!] "No."
"Can I hold a bullet?"
"No."
(Honey shoots, and saves me from head butting a tree just to make myself feel better. Cell rings,)
"Got a doe, you wanna bring him over to see it?"
[Yay] I get to go back to BED soon!!!!
So we get TO the doe...
"Mom."
"What, Tristan."
"Is that deer DEAD?"
"Yes"
"Well, will she get better?"
(Honey's just ROLLING, laughing!)
"With some seasoning."
"Can I touch her?"
"Yes, Buddy, that's why we came over here."
(Kid pets the deer.)
"Tristy, pick up her head, and I'll take your picture with her."
[Eek!] "I don't WANNA touch it."
"You just DID!"
"How?"
"Grab her ears & hold her head up!"
"Okay."

(Honey starts gutting it, & kid starts making pre-horking noises)
"Are you ok, Buddy? Are you sick?"
"Yea. Can I have Breakfast? My Nuts are all gone."
(I had given him a pocket full of almonds to munch on, hoping those would be quieter than incessant rambling.)
THEN, we decided all the NEW deer hunters needed a touch of blood on his forehead for good luck.
Tristan didn't think that was such a good idea.
So I had to go first, THEN it was pretty funny!
So, THAT'S over with. No more First time taking the kid hunting Days.
*sigh*.
Kinda makes me sad.
