About Me I have been involved with horses in one way or another for years. We breed AQHA and APHA horses for showing at the National levels, local shows, and 4-H programs. We have been very successful in all of the areas, also.
Music My music of choice is ROCK, but I do have some of the newer country artists that sound more like soft rock than they do country.
Movies We watch all kinds of movies, but the action/adventure ones are our favorites. I also like ones about horses, dogs, and the underdog coming out on top of the favorites.
TV We watch Survivor, Big Brother, and a few other network shows, but the majority of shows are sports (NASCAR, IRL, Sprints) and we are avid basketball fans, with my husband being a big football fan also. GO COLTS!!!
Books I read a wide variety of books, from Eragon to love stories involving westerns, dragon stories, etc. I also read the journals from AQHA and APHA every month.
Likes I love my animals (horses, dogs, cats, and a 6 foot green iguana)!!!! My husband claims he is so far down in the order that he doesn't count! My two grandsons are without a doubt my favorite people in the whole world!!!!
Dislikes I hate people who abuse their animals in any way!
Hobbies Showing horses is more of my job, but I do consider it a fulltime hobby. I go fishing with my husband to get out of the house and away from the farm!!!
Vices I have such a soft heart that I can't say "No" most of the time. I tend to drag home strays that I find and then they become permanent fixtures here, much to my husband's dismay!!!
Virtues I am very loyal to my friends, family, and animals are always my top priority to ensure their safety and welfare.
Heroes All the men and women who are in Iraq (any military branch) defending our right to freedom and they are helping Iraq to attain that goal also.

Lameness that won't go away after 6 months

Hi,  Does anyone have any suggestions to try after a horse has been on stall rest for a very deep abcess that has now healed, but he can't walk without limping very badly.  We had to have some of the sole of his foot removed and then he had a shoe with a plate to provide for meds to be absorbed in the foot.  I was told to let him out and get some exercise now, but he is in so much pain again he won't put his foot down.  This horse is a halter gelding weighing about 1450 lbs. now that he has lost about 200 to help with his foot.  Right now his owner is looking at the possibilty of losing him unless we can find some reason for the continued lameness.  ANY suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!  Thank You,  RQH1
