Best Wishes and heartfelt sympathy to everyone of Teddy's friends and Family.

the update
Well, ugh. I've procrastinated long enough. :)
The event went well even though only one of the four who went from our barn actually completed all three phases without being Eliminated!
My BO was doing great and was in 2nd going into XC and as she jumped the last jump on course realized that she had skipped FOUR jumps! lol! We ragged her all day! lol She just turned left when she should have turned right and left out part of the course. And yes, she had walked it several times. Just got to having too much fun on her lovely horse that will jump anything you point her at as long as it's not a FREAKIN HUGE ditch!
Her husband was out first time on his new horse. Still a bit of a beginner this was her first trial. They got E'd at the water since she WAS NOT going in! Oh well, they've got something to school now. lol He did get to jump Stadium (schooling event) and had a perfectly lovely round.
The other boarder had a great time. Her Dressage was so-so being that it was the very first time she had ever done a test and had minimal lessons before hand. Her XC was excellent overall. She had two refusals at one fence. I totally blame this on the pony getting diverted by the thirty-odd people who turned all at once to look at him! He is a doll and NEVER refuses! lol Her Stadium was excellent
Then my sister gets to go! :) Her first HT, first show, first time riding in public... first anything. lol I was so afraid she was going to shut down and freak out. She doesn't deal well with being in front of people real well and she also doesn't think she rides very well. *rolls eyes* Anyway....
Her Dressage was good for her first time out. She was going Hopeful which was Intro B. Her pony broke into canter at one point but quickly came back down to trot. She got a 50. oh well, somewhere to work from. :)
XC was supposed to be her strong point. Hhehehe.. well it went well til the third fence. Then a crowd of people, a banging flag pole and the big vet truck blew it. sigh. She could not get his focus back and they got E'd. I was so sad for her!! But she handled it well and already was talking about 'next time'. :)
I got permission from the TD for her to ride Stadium. We walked the course and I made her memorize it even though she insisted that they wouldn't get past jump two or three! *rolls eyes again* Anyway, she went in and he did great! They had one refusal at jump 6 which was just past the in-gate and a group of ponies waiting to go.... But she kicked over and the rest of the course was excellent..... Except... I forgot to tell her to make sure she went through the timers at the end!! DOH!! She finished the last fence and turned too quick. The judge told her to go back through and she popped over the last fence again! lol She didn't care. She was just SOOOOO thrillled to have ridden the whole course!
So the day was good overall. :) Our main goal was to just get her to ride her pony and that's what we did!
So I got some pics up in the Schooling Shows folder of her. I'll have to upload some of the other folks that went.
WOW. this is a long post today. :)
Ok quick CAT update. Had several really good rides in a row, even went over some X rails without the usual freak out buck fest after each one. :) Then I rode Friday and she was a NUT CASE. I soooo wanted to knock her upside the head! (JUST KIDDING) She suddenly decided that the huge building, that has been in the same place next to the arena since she's been on the farm, was going to ..... EAT HER ALIVE. OH GOD. PANIC. RUN. BUCK. KICK OUT. FREAK. OH MY GOD OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD. That's her. I'm on her back going: @)(#*$)!! easy girl )#(*)%(*)$( it's okay )@#($*)#@$ nice pony )(#*$()* good girl. its okay....
So, off the horse, get the lunge line, lunge her ever closer to giant scary building until she is finally walking calmly past. Yay. Back in the saddle and start over. It went well. :) Success. Of course, when I go out tomorrow I'll most likely have to do the same thing again. Oy. She's SOOOO smart and then she has a total BLONDE moment. I think her show name will be Moments of Blondeness. lol
Ok well gonna close this looooong post and get back outside and enjoy the lovely day. :) Thanks for taking the time to read if you did! Oh! I have pics of the Cat finally. I'll be uploading them momentarily. :) Please excuse my awful position over jumps. lol
Quick note...
Well, the weekend schooling Trial was... interesting. Only one person in our group completed the whole thing and placed Ninth! lol
I uploaded pictures of my sister and her pony to the Schooling Shows folder. I'll add another post here tonight with the details. Off to ride The Cat! ![]()
Busy days
Hey all. Again, sadly not much riding being done. Sigh. Just when I finally get my schedule organized and ride more than once a week... I hurt my knee. ERG! Fortunately not bad just twisted it last Friday loading hay. So giving the weekend off to recuperate.
Staying busy though. Helping my sister get ready for her FIRST horse trials. She's doing Hopeful level on her App pony. Its been stressful since she's not shown much and tends to shut down and be really negative when she gets to the showgrounds. Sigh. But she's been having some really great rides the past few weeks and I think this is giving her positive vibes. :)
I set up a practice course today with ten jumps and she jumped it great! It had an oxer in it which she's never jumped before. :) I had her do some warm ups and then sent her over to the Oxer. IT was about 2 ft or so. Her pony is too cute. He refused the first time but to be fair he was a bit distracted by the other horse riding in the arena. She circled back, kicked on and sailed over the oxer with a big scream of delight!!! lol. She jumped it a couple more times and then I sent her around the whole course. She had no problems at all. :) He's a great pony when he puts forth the effort. :)
So stay tuned for next weekends post! I will hopefully have pictures available the Monday after the show. Yay!
Thanks again to anybody who actually reads these. :)
Quick update
Not a whole lot going on. I took The Cat to a schooling show last Saturday. Didn't ride, just had her there for exposure. She actually was pretty good! :) Still a little high strung but I think that is going to be her personality for a while at least.
So next time I plan to actually saddle up and ride around the showgrounds. And who knows, maybe I'll even hop over some jumps. We'll have to see how things improve at home first I guess.
I really need someone to video me jumping her. It looks crazy to me from the saddle but maybe not so much from the ground? Hmmmm..... Time to go look for my photog/video friends.
Til next time!
