Not much going on really. I finally picked up some barn work a few days a week. Helping out a lady I used to work for a few years ago. She is currently boarding some pregnant mares for delivery and we are all waiting for foals! :) At least I get to come home and sleep at night. She has to stay up checking the monitor every five minutes!

We went to the XC field and had a great time! My sister is doing so well with her pony. I actually got her to jump off the bank and a over a planter. I think both are about 2'6". The pony is quite capable but she is a bit timid riding. She can do it, I just have to convince her! lol... Anyway, my barn owner went and got some great pictures! I'll post them as soon as I can.

Took the Cat too. We didn't jump anything cuz it was just a 'get away from home and don't freak out' type day for her. When I first got on her I thought she was going to blow up. So we just walked around and let her look at EVERYTHING. Big scary logs!! (yeah, about 18" high) After a few minutes she settled down though and we had a good day over all.

So I'm heading to the barn in a bit to do my chores and go for a ride. :) See ya next time!

Well I've gotten to ride a  couple times since last post. Each one fun and exciting. :) lol.. simply because I'm on a totally green horse I think. Well, like I've said, she's done stuff when she was younger (2-3yrs) but nothing for the past few years. It's like starting over!

Today we are going over to an XC schooling farm nearby. I'm really just taking her to get her exposed to going away from home again. We might go in the water but probably won't jump much else unless she settles in well. My sister is taking her pony and she will be doing most of the jumping today!

He is sooo cute. We body clipped him Tuesday and wow! The difference is amazing! I'll have to put some pics up later tonight.

So, hope I don't fall off and break anything! TTFN!

Well, after such a great ride on Monday: I spent the rest of the week in bed with the full blown version of the cold I had last week! Go figure.

So the Cat had ANOTHER week off! GRRRR! Will I ever get this horse past cross rails?!?!?

Friday we had dinner plans to eat sushi. I don't normally like sushi but the restaurant had great reviews and some of my barn friends eat there on a regular basis. So I medicated the congestion and headaches left over from the cold and trooped on out to SUSHI.

I am SOOOO Glad I went. It was the BEST sushi! lol It seems like everything was perfect. The texture, the taste, the experience. .... Maybe it was all the meds? Anyway we had a great time and will hopefully go back soon! :)

Today was perfectly lovely. About 68 or so and breezy. I went with some of the folks from the barn (that actually get to ride their horses on a regular basis) to a Cross Country Schooling. There is a lovely farm nearby, Harmony Training at Sycamore Springs. They have a great XC field with all sizes of jumps from maiden to prelim. There are a few SCARY advanced jumps but we tend to avoid those. lol

I went as Photographer today, still sniffling my way around. Got some great shots and all in all had a great time. It has inspired me to get going with The Cat this upcoming week. We may take her out there to pop over some of the tiny stuff and get in the water. Their special for March is TEN DOLLAR schooling on weekdays!! WOW! It's normally only 25 which is a great price too.

Well, that's the update for today. Off to blow my nose, again, and feed my ponies here at the house.

So went out to the barn today and.. wait for it... RODE the Cat! :) lol... i feel like it's been forever since I rode!

She was pretty good for having a week off. Like I said, it's like riding a three year old with her. So it's frustrating when I don't stay on schedule. Anyway, we just did some walking and trotting today. She was a little excited to be working again and I didn't want her to get to wound up by running around the arena. I'm working on getting her to relax into the bridle and LEAVE the bit alone! lol... When she gets a little frustrated she chews and chews and chews the bit....But when we ride regularly she settles in and leaves it alone. :)

Well, gotta run! Catch up  with ya in a day or so!

Well actually went to the barn Friday and today... didn't ride though.  Still feeling pretty crappy. The weather was really nice today! I worked on my fence at home, the dang pony is trying to tear it down!  Grrrrr.

Its supposed to be nice tomorrow so maybe I'll feel up to taking a short hack on The Cat.
