PILOT: Alright, kids. Buckle up. We're about to go through an air pocket.
NARRATION: Six of the kids listened. Those six were Jason, Tabitha, Kristen, Emma, Daniel and Sierra. After all, everyone else was asleep. Sierra had been half asleep and laying on Daniel's shoulder. Nevertheless, she heard. Well, all six of them buckled their seatbelts.
PILOT: Kids! Get the life vests! The plane wing was pulled off.
NARRATOR: Daniel ran for the vests. Just as the plane fell into the water, the six children that were awake slipped them over their heads. The rest were goners. The kids saw an island about 50 feet away. It was easy to get to with the life vests on. Except when Daniel's vest fell off. He let out a whimper. Then, Sierra grabbed his hand and saved the day for him.
DANIEL: Wow. *pulls self onto island* It's huge. Kristen, the pilot didn't survive. You're the oldest. You're in charge.
KRISTEN: Fire, shelter and food. Daniel, you and Sierra start on the shelter. Tabitha and I will do food. Jason, Emma, you do fire.
NARRATOR: Everyone went to their posts. After many hours, Kristen and Tabitha had found only three coconuts. Daniel and Sierra couldn't find anything to use for shelter except a couple of fallen pine trees. Daniel used his pocket knife and managed to cut it so that it would be better, but he could't find anything to attach the pieces with. The fire was the worst off. There was no lighter, no matches, no nothing. The sticks were damp and wouldn't light. The kids began to believe that survival was not an option.
