I have not been on in a while and thought I would take a minute to post an update.
2008 has been a rough year for my family. My husband and I both drive dump trucks and work has been ridiculously slow. In June my husbands oldest son passed from a drowning accident. He was 22 years old. Then to rub salt in the wound, my husband lost his job and was out of work for two and a half months. Talk about a financial pinch. OUCH!!! But things are starting to look up again. My husband is back to work, and my job is starting to pick up again. I just thank God for the blessings and the trials he has bestowed upon us. Because of the trials we have been through, it has taught us to manage our money better.
As for the horses, we are down to two. The financial pinch caused us to downgrade some.
I still have Silk, (of course) she is my baby. We sold Mystery, and Frank, we have another mare that was given to my husband. She has leg problems so she is just going to be a pet and maybe let the grandkids ride her around the yard. My husband is considering breeding her but is going to get the vets opinion first on whether or not he thinks she would be able to carry a foal with her legs the way they are.
The kids are...well they are kids. Boys being boys. But I would not trade them for the world and everything in and around it. The boys are my world.
I have not been riding much, it just has been entirely too hot here, but now that fall is here and the weather is cooling down a bit, I am looking forward to riding.
I have been invited to ride with some friends in the Turpentine Parade on Saturday Oct. 4 and then in the Fair parade on Oct. 13. Then sometime in November there is a big camp out/Trail ride that we have been invited to. We went to the one they had in the spring and had a great time. Looking forward to the next one.
Well that is about it, I am going to add a couple of new pictures.
May God bless everyone in every way!!!
