    Color Change

    Sunday, January 20, 2008, 06:21 PM [General]

    Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't written in here in forever. Yesterday we were out brushing the horses, and the next day we went out and our foal had large spots of white on his stomach. He was born a chestnut and has gone through several shade changes, but nothing like this. His dam is a paint and his sire a gray. Our foal is 7 months and I was just wondering if this is normal? Thanks

    My colt

    Thursday, December 27, 2007, 09:37 AM [General]

Let me first thank Heather for being the first to introduce her filly.

Dazzy who is my colt will be seven months on Jan 10, 2008. With other foals I feel that around 5 months is a good age to wean, however with Dazzy he is still nursing. We were informed that becasue he was so sick at three weeks he lost quite a bit of ground, so the vet said it would be best for the our mare to wean him. He is fine now but that was a relief becasue in winter, our grounds are snowy and frozen. My gelding is like what we call, his Uncle Tito. He comforts him when he is scared. However that is not always a good thing. Feeling happy and content he tries to nurse on our gelding which upsets. Any suggestions would be of help!!!!!

    Name that horse

    Wednesday, December 26, 2007, 01:02 PM [General]

    Hi everyone,

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!!

I was thinking of ways to get to know eachother better, and I figured we should start by tring to find some common ground which of course is HORSES. Any horse experiances, tips, stories, or just telling about your favorite horses. Here is a short story about my horses.

I own three horses, yet many of the horses surrounding me play an important role in my life. My first horse, is a twelve year old paint thourghbred mare named Cammanchee which is pronounced like the Comanche tribe. Though she has many flaws, she is an all around favorite at our small ranch. She has an attitude, and is difficult to ride, yet when she is willing, she is perfect and a pure joy to ride.

On June 10, of this year Cammanchee (manchee for short) gave us a beautiful little chestnut colt, named CaBenny's Razzle Dazzle (Dazzy for short). High spirited, and smart he tries his hardest to please and is very sweet. Half Arabian, Half Thoroughbred  he is very athletic.

Tito, my 7 year old Palimino/Red Dunn cross is perhaps one of the sweetests. He is well trained and calm though suffers from a severe fear of men. He is very good around kids and women. I love him to death.

If you guys think this is a good idea please write comments. Majority rules. PLEASE DO NOT give any personal information. Thanks for all of your support

    Sandi's filly

    Wednesday, December 26, 2007, 12:46 PM [General]

    Hi Sandi,

I have a 6 month old colt, that has been with me since birth. He is also coming along nicely. One comment kinda worried me though. You say your filly ponies, and wears a saddle. Is she nine months or nine YEARS. Just something I was interested in. We dont plan on putting a saddle on him until at least a year and a half, because there back bones are not yet developed.

Thanx for sharing your filly with us.
