    Trailering the difficult horse

Monday, February 4, 2008, 08:17 PM EST [General]

Well, It took us 3 hours to get Bass on the trailer.  We had to finally coax him on with grain.  He just about took off down the road at one point.  When he stopped he looked at me with the "What did I do?" look.  As soon as he had all four feet on the ramp he just walked right in.  He was good the whole way, and unloading him was easy.  He very calmly backed down the ramp.  That was a tiring day!

Wednesday, January 30, 2008, 08:50 PM EST [General]

well here in Massachusetts I am sick of the snow and the cold.  I can not wait for spring!  To be able to go out with just a sweatshirt on!  and be able to do stuff with the kids and the horse.  hopefully spring comes sooner rather than later.

    the story of my horse

Thursday, January 24, 2008, 06:54 PM EST [General]

well, I thought I wouldn't leave people hanging about my horse.  I had sold him when I was younger, just getting ready for college, my parents were getting a divorce, so in his best interest, I did the hardest thing ever.  I had hoped to stay in touch with the girl who I sold him to.  She had him for a couple of years and sold him to some people who had him for a few years, then he went to a "rescue", I use the term lightly because he really wasn't abused or neglected, he just needed someone to understand him.  He stayed there for a while, and then was up in Vermont for a while, then most recently he was moved to where he is now.  THank goodness for the lady who took him in, otherwise I don't think I would've found him.  He was only 15 mins away from where I work.  The thing that made me want him, and love him,  when I was 15-16 yrs old was the reasons why he moved from place to place, he was a handful, very smart, curious, and full of Morgan personality, loves showing off, and being a brat.  He really hasn't changed much either, I turned him out in his field and he was trotting around showing off, you'd never know he was 22 that day.  So now he can spend the rest of his days with my family and I, getting love and understanding!
