Well, my plan was to give Bass a bath the other day, when it was sooo warm. Saturday. Well as soon as he heard the hose near him, he took off! Good thing there is a fence around the whole place! I now have rope burn on my hand, ouch! I really need to figure him out. It is very frustrating, to know that years ago he would've stood still for me while I slowly hosed him off, he didn't even give me a chance to get close to him. Very frustrating. Oh, well, I guess I'll start with a bucket and a sponge!

Start by just using a spray bottle near him and getting closer. Then work to the hose and gradually get it closer. Each time he shows some form of relaxing (lick lips, bend leg, lower head, sigh, or blink)take the spray away. Whatever you do, show relaxed body posture. Horses don't understand English, they only understand body language. Don't try to sneak it upon him. Barbie |

LOL. I have a filly who HATES getting the bath! She's really well behaved otherwise. Anyhow, good luck with your horse! Keep us updated!
