browsing for a standing paint stud.

Hi everyone,
I have been browsing for a paint stud, and have not been successful in finding what I'm looking for. I want to breed my filly to one that really catches my eye. I won't be breeding her for another two years, but thought I would start the search early, that way I can keep an eye on the offspring for the next couple years. If I feel like it would be better to wait 3 yrs then I will. I just didn't know if anyone on here had a paint stud of their own, or knew someone that did. I would prefer one in ot around Indiana. I want to do live cover, and not shipped semen. The one I'm interested in breeding in a few years is Lexi my bay/white tobiano girl. Please let me know if you can be of help! Thanks, Heather
Well we finally sold Buddy the pony...

We finally sold Buddy the pony, but had to practically give him away. I know it's a bad time to try to sell a horse or a pony, and it's felt everywhere, but it still stinks. He went to a good home, and it's one less to provide grain, hay, and Sand Clear for. I want to spend as much time as possible with all of them, but when you both work full time, have a four year old to take care of, and quite a few animals to take care of there's just never enough time in the day!! We used to raise goats, and sheep also, but between the two species we had around 40. When we went to go trail riding we have someone feed for us, and check on everyone. It's a little stressfull when your worring about who's going to kid or lamb while your gone, and if their going to have any problems. Then your trying to explain over the phone how to help the doe or ewe if she needs help, and how to tell if there is another one still in there. It just got to be too much to ask someone else to do. We sold all of our sheep, and kept 7 goats including my buck. We had a few rabbits, and found homes for them. Things are alot easier now, and it takes alot less time to feed!! Does anyone else here raise Boer goats or any other breeds of goats or sheep? I was just curious... Well enough of my rambling...lol

Back in the saddle...

I haven't ridden Lexi for about 3.5 months, because she had a stone bruise that abcessed. I discovered it the first day she was lame, and was able to dig it out, but it was pretty deep, and just took alot of soaking, wraping, and time. She had been sound for about two weeks, so I decided to saddle her up last weekend, and take her for an easy ride. Take into consideration she won't be three till next spring. She did awsome! She never acted like she hadn't been ridden in 3 plus months. I rode by myself about a mile away from home on the edge of fields, past a hog barn with loud fans, over rail road tracks, and trotted in a field that had not been planted. I know it sounds silly to ride a horse that far away from home by myself after a break from riding her, but if you met my girl you wouldn't think a thing about it! I have never felt such a feeling of accomplishment until Lexi came into my life. I have owned her since she was 5 months old, and have done everything imaginable with, and to her ( not hurt her). I have owned horses for 24 years, but she is the first one have soley(SP) trained since weanling. I bought her full sister this spring as a weanling, and Lou Cee has a personality just like Lexi. I need to load some pictures of the rest of our horses. You know in all my spare time!! lol Yeah right whats that?
Went riding this weekend.

and trail riding this weekend, and took my husbands youngest brother ( he's 14). He had a great time, and did a really good job for an inexperienced rider. He can't wait to go with us again, and our four year old thought it was great that his uncle went with us. The horses were all pretty tired by the end of the day on Sunday. They were sure glad to get home, and see the other horses. I have a 5 month old weanling at home that I was glad to see faired just fine. My husbands other brother feeds for us when we go trail riding, so I knew she would be just fine. I need to get more pics on here of the rest of the horses. Does anyone here live in Indiana?
