    Found- Sad day

Friday, July 18, 2008, 02:45 PM CST [General]

Well after all the searching, emails, fliers and phone calls. NFl was found in the pasture this afternoon. We were going out and searching the pasture everyday but had not come across her till now. We belive she had trouble mis-carring a foal and that was what caused her un-timely demize. I want to thank everyone that helped spread the word us.

I had two similar accidents happen. One was my gelding named Shadow. The best we can guess is he put a tree branch through his neck. After a couple hundred stitches later (which didn't hold of course), I finally ended up packing it twice a day with Corona cream. It worked really well. You can't even see a scare but there are two indentations were the tree branch went through. The next really bad one happened about a year ago. My gelding Leroy laid down next to some panels and got both back legs stuck. He sea sawed them back and forth until there was nothing for the vet to sew up. It was winter in Idaho so I didn't have to deal with bugs which was a God sent! I used the Corona cream and wrapped his legs twice a day for a month. Surprisingly, he is completely sound even though he has so bad scars. Because of my accidents and the ending results, my vet back home now tells people to use Corona. If you haven't tried it, give it a whirl. It really helps with the scarring. Good luck! I am looking forward to more picture to see his healing process.
