I noticed today that I have forgotten to upload a photo of my horse. What a terrible horse parent I am.
This is the J bird at 6. It is one of my all time favorite photos of him.

Well, tonight I did half my horse's trace clip. He has so much hair this year that he is sweltering in Florida. Most days, we are still seeing close to 80 °F weather. So he is more comfy and I am itching all over. I wish I could take my skin off for a while tonight! We are having our barn Christmas party this weekend. I am really looking forward to that. It is always the best party of the season. Bonfire, singing, hay ride, good company, and more food than you can imagine. Hoping to get the remainder of my horse's clip done on Friday night. We are supposed to ride with friends on Saturday morning. Even if I can't get to it, he won't look too funny. The half that I finished was a bib clip, so I only have to complete his stomach and around the top of his back legs. Tags:
A Start

Well, I suppose I should add an opening blog to my site. We have had awesome riding weather here for the last couple of weeks. Last weekend, I took son number 3 for 3 hour ride. The forestry division was doing a controlled burn. Nice to find out after we get into the woods. By the time that we came through the burn area, it was just smoldering. The smoke wasn't too bad and it was kind of interesting. We had some overhead activity from military "blackhawks". All in all, it was a truly fun ride. Today, I took son number 1 for a 3 hour ride. It was a test ride of a map I made from satellite images. Turn out that my map was pretty danged accurate. Such a beautiful ride. Unfortunately, my camera is having severe card problems and I could only recover one photo. Drats! All went well except a minor melt down over the horse-eating minnows in the creek crossing. My gelding swears that they are pirahna. Tags:
