I worked with Blaze today, he did okay, but not nearly as good as last time. Can't blame him for it though,we couldn't do much with an inch of ice on the ground last week.

I also worked with Snip today. He is picking up his feet really good. He held them up for awhile on his own too, so that was really good.

Not sure if I'll get out today to work with Tank though, the arena is a mud pit...

We did get the pen ready for the stud pony were getting though. Hopefully we can pick him up tomorrow. That's all for now,

So, I have been working on Tank's stopping, he's doing pretty good. I haven't worked with him in a week though, it is so muddy out there! I really wish it'd dry up. I can't wait to get out there and work with them, they we're doing so good.

Haven't worked with Blaze or Bethany either, same reason.  We did work with Marty, Maddy, and Snip though. Found out that Snip doesn't know how to pick up his feet, so I'm working on that. He gets ticked when I pick up his right foot, stomps REAL hard, but his left he's fine. We're working on that though.

I think we're gonna be able to trade two of our mini mares for a pony that'd be good for kids to ride.(eventually) He's only two right now and I don't want to start him that early.

I may have found a mare that'd be good for lessons this year though. She's 8-10 yrs old, 13hh (not quite sure on that), and half TWH. Supposedly kid ridden, etc. Thinking about going to look at her sometime. I really need a lesson horse and I hope this is a good candidate for the job.

I guess that's all for now,

Yesterday and today we were able to work with Marty, Maddy and Skip! Marty did pretty good, I could tell he hadn't been worked with for quite awhile though.  I can't wait until it dries out though, I really want to start lungeing him again, he has a bit of pent up energy.

As far as Skip, I don't know how much groundwork he has on him, since we didn't start him.  So were starting him from the ground up.  He was pretty scared of the lead rope, so Alison desesitized him with that, and the stick and string.  He apparently hasn't been taight how to lunge either, but he took to it fairly well.

Hopefully in a couple weeks we'll get to riding him. He seems like a good fella, and I really want to get him to where his owner can ride him.

Next week we're starting on Blaze and Bethany AGAIN. I really really really hope that all the flexing we did didn't go down the drain from Christmas break :0

Last week I was able to work with Blaze almost all week...until the rain came.  I was really seeing some progress, he's doing great.  I just need to get back out there this week, hopefully it stops raining this week.

I got some awesome boots and spurs for my birthday! I love them!  Can't wait to get out there and ride in them! :)

    That's all for now,

    It's cold outside!

Saturday, December 1, 2007, 07:57 AM CST [General]

Well I haven't been riding or training lately. I can't stand the cold, plus the past week it's been rainy and muddy.  I'm REALLY hoping this next Monday will be different so we can get back to working with Blaze and Bethany.  It's supposed to rain/snow on Sunday so I may need to find some rubber boots or something. :(

I suppose that's all I have to write for now,
