No, didn't go to City, barrel race is this weekend, girls were confused and they were the ones entered! Youngest, Sandy, won state championship in one assn. or the other. Big bucks, saddle and a bunch of other stuff. She was sure excited. And to think she has a horse that's worth over $100,000. and no insurance of any kind on him. Go figure. Got new horse Monday. He is a bay paint Tennessee Walker, 10 yrs. old. Needs shoes off and a natural foot but will wait until after this weekend all girl trail ride at Medicine Lodge, Kansas. He rides real smooth and is soooo quiet. My husband will have no excuse not to ride with me now. His name is Comanche. My Joel just got over fetlock injury from playing in mud and now other front pastern has a cut from I don't know what. He is such a baby, everything hurts him and everyone picks on him. He acts real mean but never follows thru with his threats with the other horses. He is a real dependable ride tho and has great ground manners. Comanche is a little too desensitized on the ground, tends to be a little heavy about moving him around. He will get better as he gets accustomed to me and the place. How are you coming with your horse, the scared one? I finally got to ride two days in a row but only cause I rode in the AM, rained this afternoon and again this evening, no severe weather tho and not too much rain. Hope it's nice this weekend. Have to load camper and pack tomorrow. Comanche will DEFINATELY need a bath Friday before I leave. He is a big time roller so he's a mud ball. Have to find home for the other Walker Gelding, Snowman ASAP, have a couple folks looking and will run ad this Sunday as a friend is keeping him and will show him for me. He needs a kind home as he's had some rough treatment in the past but is really forgiving. Responds to your tone of voice quite well. Not a beginner horse tho as he has a big motor and moves out quite fast for the first couple of miles before settling in and working quiet. He is a smooth ride and fast walker. More later, have to go do more prep and regular wifely stuff. Cherl
