Hey Sandi how in the world are you? Haven't heard from you for a long time. Are you helping a friend sell some horses? That can keep you busy. I am looking for home for one of mine, husband reject. Finally found the perfect one for him now I believe. He's a 10 yr. old Bay Paint Tennessee Walker. Nice and QUIET but can move out nicely when asked. Just more content walking quietly which is what my hubby needs. He won't run off and leave my Joel in the dust either. He may be too long strided for short hubby so Joel may be his ride of choice. Either way he will be safe and we can ride together instead of a 1/4 mile apart. Have to get long feet fixed on Comanche (new horse) after the trail ride this weekend, his shoes haven't been on more than 3 weeks so one or two more and off they come. May have to keep him shod for a while longer than I want since he has some cracks that go up a long way and on both front feet. At least he has 1" of new healthy growth and normal hoof. Looks like he had some injury and lots of neglect before the folks I bought him from got him. They did a good job of rehab, just have to continue. He goes sound and real smooth anyway. Nothing seems to freak him out, if it's new he just takes a real good look and sniffs is out. So nice to ride another besides Joel with a good mind and clam nature. Hope you health is continuing to improve. Did your mare settle OK? Babies are so cute but I've just raised and started too many to enjoy that aspect of horse handling anymore. Really respect folks who do, they're a lot of work and it only can go just so fast as they grow. More later, have to get things lined out here and load camper and pack, etc. etc. for the weekend. Hope it's nice and I can enjoy the time away from all my work worries for a couple days. Get pretty flustered trying to keep up with everything and everyone. Keep on keeping on. Cheryl Cheryl |

Hey Sandi, Glad to hear from you again. Must be mental telepathy, I was thinking about you this morning while doing my horsekeeping chores. Been hectic since last we talked. Went to Dallas, learned lots of neat stuff for our Nutrition business and met some really cool folks. One from Korea I will keep in touch with via email. Joel sprained his right front fetlock joint so he will be sidelined for about 6 weeks and me being overprotective will get him a suspensory boot to be safe when we start riding again. Got ladies trail ride last of this month so Snowman will go. Rounded up the neighbors escaped cattle other day, Snowy did unexpectedly well, even headed them well enough that we got them all in in one try. Go figure. My youngest daughter got me a birthday present last month but had to wait for it to be ready, got it week ago Tuesday, a black Min. Schnauzer puppy, Rocky is his name now. What a character! Supposed to be the one to fill the void when 17 yr old Shadow kicks off, should have named him Timex as he'll probably live to be 25. Oh well, 4 dogs shouldn't be too much, I hope. Glad you are doing better, keep up the good work and improvements. Good luck at the show. More later. Cheryl |

Opps. I hit the wrong comment from my email and sent message to wrong person. I was worried for you and all is the same, but I know you didn't get a new horse. Hope they can get you lined out soon. Weather is getting nicer every day. Today was a windy buggr tho. Do you think a chiropractor could possibly help you? I went in after my bad fall and 2 months of pain and got relief immediately. Took 5 visits to keep it that way but even my old ankle sprain and broken toe feel much better. Doesn't always work for everyone and not always the right option for everyone but may be worth a try. Just get a good one, ask for references. Get better and you are in my prayers every day. Cheryl |

Good to hear from you again. Worried about you. Great news about the mare, sounds like a real gem. Friend of mine was given a Quarter Horse mare today, she's 7 too, but not that good, pretty lame and don't really know why. She'll probably sell her as a brood mare. Some folks have all the luck! HA! HA! Delivered the gelding I was selling and got his new owner all aquainted, rode him and loves him. He fusses over him alot. Other folks that had him didn't take very good care of him. I had to do his feet, hadn't been done for 2 or 3 months as far as I could see and I had his feet real good when he left last fall. Not in good flesh, just dry pasture all winter I think. He has a great home now tho. Rode several days this week and Snowman is doing much better. He just needs lots of miles to be as good as Joel. Thank goodness. My daughter is in Lexington, Ok. also. She's supposed to be in tonite as her father-in-law is about to pass away. Sad, but he's been ready to go for some time now. More later, maybe after we get back from Dallas. Cheryl |

Haven't heard from you in a while. Not having more health issues I hope. We got rain, not as much as south and east or Missouri but a mess anyway. Rode with neighbors yesterday, one of their horses kicked me again, in the foot I am getting over bad sprain-dislocation and broken pinkie toe. Love those horses of theirs, guess riding alone will be safer. I've never owned a horse in all my 50 years of riding that kicked at others while under saddle. Lack of discipline and or training I guess. Oh well. At least weather is warming up but wind is also up most of the time. Let me hear from you, hope all is well. Cheryl Cheryl |

Glad to hear you are feeling somewhat better. I still think you can improve your quality of life using proper nutrition. Not available from what we can find in the grocery store considering 75% of our farm land is now considered sterile. How can we manage to eat 24 servings of fruits and veg. daily not even considering the pesticides and herbacides and fertilizer we get at the same time?! I don't know, I'm not a DR., can only go by what I've seen with my own eyes and experienced with our family and friends. I wish we were closer and could visit in person, you seem like such a nice person and I hate to hear about someone in pain or with a poor quality of life just having to continue that way. Hope things improve greatly for you so you can get out there and enjoy life and the horses. My husband and I are going to be in Dallas weekend after next, Thurs thru Sat PM maybe you are close enough our families could visit. Sister-in-Law lives in Whiteoak and we may take time to visit over there, although that is really out of the way from Enid return trip. Keep on keepin on and get better, you are in our prayers for a complete and rapid recovery. C Cheryl |

Sandi, Sorry to hear about doctor drill. It's expensive and frustrating, especially if it turns out they can't pin down a cause. You'll just have to learn to live with it or live on pain killers. I take some stuff that has wiped out my headaches, used to throw up to make it go away or just go to bed and try to get rid of them. Haven't had but 2 or 3 in last 3 years. Of course mine were sinus and stress related, as well as body adjustment issues. Chiropractor and these supplements did the trick for me. Bad thing is they're not cheap but since we have not insurance to pay for and don't have any other health or quality of life issues now I guess it's not all that much. Only Dr. visits I've had in last 3 years have been horse or self inflicted by being soooo cordinated.! I can send some of the stuff if you can't get any relief any other way. They are all natural, no drug interaction stuff and super quality checked for pureness and safety. Just a thought. Rode Snowy yesterday, he was a real good boy, thank God. Cooler today but will still try. Maybe Joel, although he's a bit stiff at the moment for some reason. Holler at ya later. Good luck and God Bless. Cheryl Cheryl |

Hey Sandi, It was so nice yesterday and today was really warm but soooo windy. Rode with the neighbors today. Just two of us yesterday. Have to get out early tomorrow as it's supposed to get real windy and rainy later. Hate to hear you are still feeling poorly. Hope you get lined out soon. I went in Monday to see if I was broken or just muscle pulls. Broken pinkie toe but nothing else. Trip to the Chiropractor and back feels LOTS better. Went again today and ankle and broken toe are now more functional. Ah the joys of aging! Joel felt a little stiff and rough today, but I put his boots on as toes are still a bit thin. He mucked along ok but just not as smooth as usual. Snowman was good yesterday, must know he'll be looking for an endurance riding home if he doesn't shape up. A couple months riding and round penning and I think he'll be great. Hope so anyway. How's filly coming along since her injury? Better run, no rest for the wicked. C. Cheryl |

Hey Sandi, Nice to hear from you. Folks are getting busy around here with a week of nice weather to ride in. Saw 10 or 12 area folks out Sunday. I rode with the folks across the road, He rides a BIG Hancock roan QH mare, she's a real nasty one, and she rides a Rocky Moutain Gelding. I rode my Walker, Snowman. What a basket case with that mare along. Both geldings silly, she is perpetually in heat, squeals and kicks at the drop of a hat, no warning, but the boys think she's great. Go figure. We rode on a place a farmer rents from the State School, hills, stream crossings and a bajillion gopher mounds. I go as slow as possible but that mare guy just rips. Don't know how they keep from breaking a leg. We came back and Sandy, neighbor gal, put her Joker up and got out her old mare out for a short ride. Really short, she stepped on a rock right out of the gate and came up lame, she's arthritic and navicular so it doesn't take much. I rode today and we will both ride tommorrow and one of her friends will ride my Joel, Foxtrotter and I will ride Snowy. Should be interesting, gal riding Joel hasn't been in a while. Thank the Lord for the nice weather even if it is only for a few days. Hope you have good luck with making baby horse for next year. We raised lots of foals and generally had good luck. Only got one that had some rare gene problem and only lived 3 months. Real sad but very long ago. Better go, have to get my hubby up off the sofa, take his "stuff" and shuttle him off to bed. At 65 it gets harder and harder to keep up the pace as a bricklayer. Cheryl Cheryl |

Hi Sandi, Well went on the overnite trail ride and it went fairly well. Lady I took with me ended up a non-rider after telling me hours of tales about how proficient she was, in her 20's and now 63. What a disaster. She only made it about 300 yards before fear got her and she decided her horse was pitching, he was just jumping up out of a ditch. She wanted to ride my new horse Comanche which I had only been on 4 times before the ride. Now how much sense does that make on a ride with 120 women, many of whom could not ride well, and or had horses that were kickers, rearers, not fully broke, etc.? She went back to camp and her nice little horse got to stand picketed all day while she caught up on her sleep. Oh yes, she talked non stop till 2:30 AM the nite before and started in again at 4:00 AM till 6. Potty call rescued me and the dogs and we finally got a couple hours uninterrupted rest before riding. Comanche did super climbing up hills and going places that looked wild with no problem. Glad he still had those "nasty" shoes with toe and heel calks for that ride. Spent a good amount of time holding mane going up and resting my head on his rump going down, thru deep mud etc. All in all it was fun for me, didn't even get close to being dumped, drowned(well kinda close) or run off with. Comanche is a good match for Joel and my family. Amen the search is over. Now have to find homes for 1 Walker with big motor and one Fox Trotter with not so big motor and all will be well in Nelson horseland. If hubby knew we owned 4 horses right not my *** would be grass and he'd be driving a mean mower. Looks like that situation may be under control by weeks end. Good luck at May show and riding Lil Bit. More later. C
