I suck at blogs but I guess I should introduce myself.
Hi I'm Meghan. Lol. K now that I got that out of the way.
You guys know me from HC as .dancer. I use to ride a dun overo mare named Fancy we went to many open shows and did quite well for ourselfs. We both taught eachother things and bettered (is that even a word? lol) ourselves. Before Fancy I really didnt know to much about riding, my friend Angie got me started on it by taking me out with her to the barn where she rode. Soon after she bought sage and moved her closer to town, and the owner had a horse (Fancy) who I had decided to start leasing. At first it was just for fun, but then I started watching angie at a couple shows and had decided that maybe it would be something I would try. Last year I had gratuated from highschool and had decided I wanted to go to Fairview, Alberta for school and take a horsemanship class. But at the last minute I chickened out, my parents were moving east and I wasnt ready to leave home, I also think that maybe horses were more of a hobby than a way of making a living.
So last year my parents moved east about 5 hours from where I use to live. I stayed the summer in my old town and then moved to Saskatoon to be with the boyfriend. Take it from me, following a guy around is not a good idea. Long story short, we broke up and I ended up moving back home.
Moving back home was possibly one of the best things i have ever done. I bought a QH colt named Cody and started to train him. I put about 2 months on him, and got him a really nice start for Hunters, something I'm really not interested in because I hate jumping but did it anyway to help him do what he has a passion for. I had a very interested buyer in Cody and I had originally wanted to keep him until he was going even better but I had decided to sell. A couple weeks later, Cody passed away with a very bad Colic.
Meanwhile I had found a job working at a long term care facility (nursing home) working as an SCA. At first I did it because it was REALLY good money, but then I started to realize that this job was maybe something I want to do for the rest of my life, now not nessecairily working at a Nursing home, but maybe going to school to become a Registered Nurse and finding a job in a hospital. So I had to decided to apply to SIAST in Saskatoon for RN. But my highschool marks were not good enough for the competitiveness of the course so I had to upgrade my Bio and Chem 30 classes. I ended up not finishing the upgrade classes though and applyed to the U of S instead to start my first year with all the non-nursing courses that i need to take to maybe lighten the load for when i do get into nursing, Also doing it this way and keeping up the good marks will get me into nursing no problem.
After Cody, the BM and I had found a rescue project to work on, Bella. Not really sure what she was but she looked more like a QH. For half a year we worked on getting her better, her feet were so long they curled under, you can see her ribs, she had horrible worms, etc etc. your usual rescue case. We rehabilitated her wild personality and made her into what seems to be an AWESOME, now bomb proof horse, but shes not earthquake proof, yet ;). We ended up finding a buyer for her and sold her to a wonderful home for their adolescent daughter.
I also had bought a new car in January, a Cobalt LT, 2007 and BLACK YAY!!. When I had graduated from highschool my parents gave me a 1997 chevy cavalier convertable, a red one (eww lol). it was a good little car though, dubed the "barbie car". But in January the transmission started to go, something about a little rubber band?, no idea, not a car person lol. So my dad had decided to take me to Lease a new car. Leasing was something i could acctually afford, since I had to pay for this one.
Well sorry for the novel, but that right there is a partial life story, the stuff I can tell you about lol. Makes me feel a little like Corner Gas, when Hank made a blog that no one read haha. Oh boy, can you tell I'm from Saskatchewan?
On HC sometimes I might sound like a cranky or mean person, but I'm really not. Im VERY easy going, and easy to talk to. Sometimes the post on HC are pointless and stupid, no offence to you N00bs. But I guess I'm upset because I miss the old KOBB on HC and now that more and more new people have joined its making it a little oh i dont know the word. And I'm sure I've posted qite a few stupid posts as well lol.
Anyway I'm tired of typing. Ill probably go onto something else later.
